Elements of Competency Performance Criteria              
Element: Examine previous improvements
  • Identify impact of previous process improvements to equipment, operations, services or products in own work area
  • Identify improvements where objectives have not been met
       
Element: Implement corrective actions
  • Identify corrective actions that can be taken by self on process improvements that have not met objectives
  • Obtain any approvals required to take corrective actions
  • Seek assistance with any skills or other support needed to identify and/or adopt improved processes
  • Adopt improved processes
  • Identify improvements expected from improved processes
  • Identify methods of observing and measuring expected improvements in own work area
  • Check if expected improvements are occurring and report problems in accordance with procedures
  • Identify possible further improvement and/or mistake-proofing to sustain improved processes
  • Discuss improvement ideas with peers and supervisors to confirm or amend improvements
  • Take action to implement improvements in accordance with procedures

Assessment Tasks

Copy and paste from the following data to produce each assessment task. Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.
Copy and paste from the following performance criteria to create an observation checklist for each task. When you have finished writing your assessment tool every one of these must have been addressed, preferably several times in a variety of contexts. To ensure this occurs download the assessment matrix for the unit; enter each assessment task as a column header and place check marks against each performance criteria that task addresses.
